Mansooreh Hosseini - Iranian Contemporary Art

 

 Mansooreh Hosseini (1926 –2012) was an Iranian contemporary artist and one of the pioneers of the country’s modern art.
At a young age, it was discovered that she had a talent for drawing, which compelled her father to hire a painting tutor to help her work to her potential. Later on, she was educated at the University of Tehran in the Faculty of Fine Arts, from which she graduated in 1949. Mansooreh left Iran in the early 1950s to live in Italy, where she furthered her education at the Rome Academy of Fine Arts leading up to her artistic début at the 28th (XXVIII) Venice Biennial in 1956.After a moderately successful period in Italy, Mansooreh returned to Iran in 1959 and won several awards in the Tehran Painting Biennial. In 2004 she exhibited at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.Mansooreh is known for having produced works in both figurative and abstract styles. Her works have often included elements of Kufic script. She is known, along with Behjat Sadr, to use traditional elements of both the Persian culture and that of contemporary Europeans. Chohreh Feyzdjou - Post-apocalyptic Installation - “Product of Chohreh Feyzdjou”

 

 Chohreh Feyzdjou (1955 – 1996) was an Iranian artist"Chohreh Feyzdjou grew up in Iran in a Jewish family of intellectuals,and moved to Paris in 1975. It was here that she completed her artistic training at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts, and also learned about the Kabbalah and Sufism. Her untimely death in 1996 put an abrupt end to a unique body of work, which had only just begun to be exhibited in major museums across Europe. Feyzdjou made her name at the start of the 1990s with a vast corpus of objects culled from her atelier and from her past, among them drawings and paintings, all of which she covered with a more or less diffuse layer of black pigment. Each one was carefully catalogued, stored in boxes, in glass jars, in crates and trunks, or wrapped in plastic, put in tubes, stocked on shelves or tables, and in drawers or on scaffolding which were themselves covered in black pigment. Nothing remains identifiable apart from the fact that each element bears the archive reference, “Product of Chohreh Feyzdjou”. While this installation may bring to mind a post-apocalyptic catastrophe, its presentation also evokes the stalls full of goods that can be found in grocery stores and bazars across the Middle East."(awarewomenartists.com)

"My passion is painting and I have found my interest and also my talent in painting since I was a little boy. In addition I got my B. A in painting. I have been inspired mostly by nature and ordinary lives, so my main style for these art works is real and surreal. Although I do not restrict myself to only one technique and I am an expert in painting through different mediums and techniques such as oil color, water color, and color pencil.

I am talented in painting and I have started painting since I was a little boy. I have developed excellent different painting skills through these years. Then I got my B. A in Art, Painting. My passion for art is highlighted by different exhibitions I have held during these years and also by my achievements in my job careers.
